Outlier quotes stretch from about $100 on the low end to $1,600 on the high end. Cheap duct ads have a rough reputation in Houston, and some of it is earned. Watch for these patterns when you compare quotes:

• The ad never says what the price covers. A "$49 whole house" offer that turns into $35 per vent at the door was a per vent job wearing a flat rate costume.
• No pricing model over the phone. If a company cannot explain how it charges before arriving, expect the number to grow once the truck is in your driveway.
